When it comes to creating a versatile wardrobe, having a few staple pieces can really make all the difference. While we under the simplicity and ease of getting comfortable with wearing one go-to piece the same way, Stylist Erica Wark showed us five key pieces that you can breathe new life into while still sticking to your personal taste!

PRINTED BLOUSE

A printed blouse is an easy way to keep your outfits fresh and new as it can be mixed and matched with numerous things in your closet. For an office-appropriate look, you can pair a printed blouse with trousers and a neutral blazer. When heading for a night out, adding a pleated skirt and a sleek leather jacket will take the blouse from daytime to edgy-chic!

JEANS

Everyone has a jean style that they prefer, whether it's flare or skinny cut. Either way, dark denim will never go out of style and is a piece that looks fabulous with almost anything! Whether you're heading to brunch or a coffee date, a bright sweater, clutch and loafers will complement your dark denim. Wondering how you can transform that look into date attire? Simply pair your denim with an off-the-shoulder blouse and a bright ankle boot!

TURTLENECK

A basic and simple turtleneck can be worn in countless ways if you own the right staples. Don't be afraid to opt for a printed pair of trousers to take your turtleneck from simple to sophisticated. If you're in the mood for a bold look you can toss on a pair of loud-coloured pants and a plaid blazer!

BLAZER

It's no secret that you can't go wrong with a neutral or bold blazer, no matter what your lifestyle is. The easiest way to put together a trendy outfit using a blazer is by picking out a matching pair of trousers. You can also add in other staples, such as a black turtleneck or statement blouse to make your blazer pop.

PENCIL SKIRT

Pencil skirts are a classic option for days at the office or nights on the town. We love styling leather pencil skirts to really make a statement. While you might associate a skirt with being "too dressy," using a sweater and a pair of loafers can help dress down the look. However, if you're looking for a way to bring the skirt to life, opt for a satin blouse, a textured bag and statement heels - You'll look cocktail-ready!
