When it comes to getting older, many of us worry about the effects it will have on our skin. With facial and body changes happening as we age, it's necessary to adjust our makeup and skincare routines as needed. Makeup Artist Christine Cho showed us how we can embrace our age using a variety of face and makeup products specified for your eyes, lips, neck and hands!

EYES

No matter what age you are, the skin around our eyes is extremely delicate. This area of the face is more prone to deep wrinkles and fine lines due to thin skin. Having skincare products that are solely for the eye area is crucial. From serums to eye masks, you might be wondering what you actually need. Look for something that is both soothing and cooling as well as hydrating. Cooling effect products help calm and de-puff the skin, which is necessary for under-eye care!

When it comes to makeup, don't overdo it under your eyes. Using light makeup, such as a cakeless concealer, under the eyes will help minimize the appearance of creases.

LIPS

The skin around the mouth tends to show lines and sag as when we lose elastin and collagen. Appling serums and creams to your face is a great step, but ensure that you carry the product right to your lip line. Using a sleeping lip mask is an effective way to moisturize and hydrate your lips before applying makeup. Another great tip is to wear SPF on your lips and take a break from longwear lipsticks! Instead, try a hydrating lipstick if you find that your lips are constantly chapped.

NECK

With many of us constantly looking down at our computers and phones, we're super prone to skin affects around our neck area. Moisturizing your neck, both day and night is important. The key to keeping your face and neck hydrated is to stay consistent with your skincare routine! Using regular body creams or face creams on your neck will still work if you don't have a cream specific to your neck. However, we recommend investing in a firming neck cream if you really want to see results. When it comes to makeover, ensure to blend your foundation or colour control compact from the jawline slightly down to your neck so that there isn't a noticeable difference between the two areas! A little can go a long way when it comes to creating a seamless look without using heavy makeup.

HANDS

The back of our hands is often prone to wrinkles, age spots and wear and tear. Even just washing your hands frequently can affect how your hands look. If you wash your hands numerous times throughout the day, try to create the habit of reapplying hand cream immediately after. If you find that your hands need an extra boost, using a hand scrub or hand glove mask will do the trick! A secret tip to keeping your hands looking smooth is to use a tiny bit of primer! This will help hydrate, blur and enhance the look of your hands without putting colour or makeup on them.
