With different widths and lengths, cutting boards can be a bit problematic to store in your kitchen. Sometimes they don’t fit into drawers or maybe your cabinets are big enough to store all of them together. A simple solution is to pick up an inexpensive wire rack from your local dollar store and screw it into the door of one of your kitchen cabinets! You’ll be left with the perfect place to store all of your cutting boards without spending a lot of money.
Having cooking utensils stored away might make your countertop less busy, but it isn’t exactly practical. In most households, cooking utensils are used daily and need to be grabbed often. Rather than throwing them in a big jar, utilize something more decorative. For example, a nice vase can be used to display your utensils. You can group them together, keeping in mind that they’re now part of your kitchen décor. Wooden spoons can go in one vase while another can hold your spatulas and ladles.
If you want to take things one step further, pick up a decorative tray that you can place both the vases on. You can get a third vase to place in the middle and fill it with stems or marbles to bring the look together.
Small items like spices and notepads can easily get lost in big drawers. If you have a grouping of miscellaneous items that you typically keep together, use the vertical space available on our fridge! You can add magnets to the back of small decorative baskets and hang them off the side or front of your fridge to hold those items. Not only will you be able to grab things without searching through a drawer, but it can also add a decorative touch to your fridge.
Storing pot lids can sometimes feel like a daunting task. Attempting to fit them into your cupboards is never easy. A great solution is to attach a small white curtain rod to the back of the cupboard door! Your pot lids can be placed inside the 2” gap and the handle from the lid will hold onto the rod perfectly. You can even create multiple rows if you have space.
