Two gorgeous furniture DIYs that are shockingly easy

Child's Tent

• 3 dowels (1/2" in diameter)
• 2 1x2x96″ pieces of wood cut in half (to make four 4′ pieces)
• an old queen sized bed sheet
• Peel n Stick fabric fuse
• scissors
• a drill and a 1/2″ drillbit
• small finishing nails
• 2 1×1″ nailing strips (like the ones I used here)
1. Cut 1x2's into 4' lengths and drill holes 1-2" from the edges

2. Prep bedsheets by cutting into appropriate width (about 46") and leave length as is

3. Make a loop around a dowel using the Peel n Stick Fabric Fuse all along the edge (I cut the sheets into thin strips), then wrapping the fabric around the dowel. Repeat on the other side if necessary.

4. Assemble the tent by lining up two of the 1x2s at the "front" of the tent (making an "A" shape) and inserting dowels into top and bottom holes. Repeat for the back, draping the sheet over each side as you go.
5. For added security, use a nailing strip at the front and/or back of the tent so that it stays in place.

Blanket ladder

• 4 18” pieces of 1x2” pine
• 2 60” pieces of 1×2 pine (these can be cut at the hardware store for you)
• Wood stain
• Paper towel or old rags
• Nail gun or a hammer and nails
• Sandpaper
1. Have wood cut at hardware store or cut at home into sizes Po outlined above
2. Dent the pine with a hammer for a more worn out look
3. Stain in your colour of choice and let dry overnight
4. Nail the small pieces evenly spaced onto the two 60" pieces, creating your ladder.
