Two DIY projects that will make you think twice about tossing old items

Upcyled Milk Glass Light Fixture


You Will Need:

  • Milk Glass Light Fixture With A Level Bottom(Glass Only)
  • Spray Paint Suitable For Metal / Glass
  • Drop Cloth
  • Adhesive Rubber Or Felt Pads 

How To Make It

  1. Wash milk glass fixture with soap and water and dry thoroughly.
  2. Lay down drop cloth and apply a coat of spray paint paint. be sure that you are in a well ventilated area. allow to dry and apply a second coat of paint if necessary.
  3. Apply adhesive pads to the bottom of 'vase' to prevent breakage and scratches
  4. Fill with your favourite flowers! 

Upcycled Tile Tray

You Will Need:

  • 1 X Leftover Marble Tile 
  • 2 X Door Pull Handles
  • Ruler
  • Marker
  • Spray Bottle
  • Drill
  • 3/16" Diamond Drill Bit
  • Screw Driver 
  • 4 X Adhesive Rubber Pads

How To Make It

  1. Decide the location you would like for the handles on your marble tile. Use your ruler and marker to line handles up evenly on either end, and mark the location of all handle holes.
  2. Spray first hole location with water. Using your drill, line up the drill bit with the marked hole location. Tilt drill on a 45 degree angle and then begin to drill. As the drill bites into the marble slowly raise drill up to 90 degree angle, drilling continuously. 
  3. Repeat step two with the remaining three holes.
  4. Wipe marble clean and attach both handles to either end of the tray.
  5. Flip tray over and attach four rubber pads to the base to prevent slipping and scratching. Voila!
