The Lowdown On The Latest Buzzworthy Beauty Trends

There are new buzzwords floating around the world of beauty all the time, and we're breaking down the biggest trends that have hit the market recently that you really need to know about.

This technique, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery, is a new way to permanently groom your brows. It's ideal for those women who don't have enough brow hairs. Artists draw hair-like strokes with a small blade to mimic natural hairs in your brows and fill each with a vegetable-based ink. Even though it's not as deep as the regular tattoo, it's still a tattoo because pigment is implanted under the skin.

Results can last up to three years with proper maintenance. Before you commit, make sure you seek a trained esthetician with properly sanitized tools who is performing the treatment since the technique employs a blade.

Hair Dusting
This is the latest method to get your hair cut  without loosing length. This is similar to razoring hair, but with even more precision, and less hair sacrified. This is the perfect solution for those who need a trim, but don't actually want to cut their hair. We all know one of those people!

Dry Masks
These high tech, re-usable masks are dry to the touch when you put them on your face, but then you activate the formula by lightly massaging it on to the surface of the skin. The benefits here is that the felt-like masks are infused with semi-solid plant oils that warm and imperceptibly melt at body temperature. These oils, primarily shea butter and hydrogenated soybean can be more effective at delivering their anti-aging active ingredients (peptides, antioxidants) than the water-based masks.

You wear masque for 15 minutes, and then after removing, you allow the skin to absorb the formulation. Don't rinse! Best of all, the mask can be re-used up to three times. Just refold the masque with the formula side facing inward and place it back into the hygienic pouch. Reseal the pouch using the zip.

Anti-Pollution Skincare and Haircare
This trend is everywhere, stemming largely from a clinical study from few years ago that showed women in rural areas had much better skin than those who lived in cities subject to smog and air pollution. Beauty companies are innovating to counter these free radicals with super doses of antioxidants to stop the attack on our skin and hair.

Dermalogica Superfoliant with charcoal, and Herbal Essences BioRenew, formulated with histidine, a potent antioxidant to mop up free radical damage that otherwise makes hair look dull or dry.
