Ashley Howe and Alyson Schafer discuss what parents should do if they suspect their child is the bully.

Signs Your Child Might be a Bully

  • How do they interact with siblings, do they show bully like actions when interacting with them?
  • They have no respect for authority and get emotional when they are told that they can’t do certain things.
  • They are impressed with having power, they tell others what they can and can not do

Bullies can be very popular and enjoy having an audience so they many push or make fun of others to obtain and maintain that audience. They usually commit acts of bullying when there is no supervision. If your child is a bully you have to make sure that you do not bully them with discipline.  Usually kids are bullies because they are afraid of something.  Have a conversation and find ways you can parent that fear. As a parent you have to be a model of human compassion and help you child move forward in a healing way.
