Wedding Bouquet Trends
Event planner, Melissa Andre reveals upcoming trends in fresh floral bouquets.
Bouquet Trend #1
Pantone: Royal Orchid
The official pantone for 2014 is Royal Orchid and we're seeing a huge influence of this in bridal bouquet trends. This beautiful hue lends itself to many different colour combinations making it a perfect choice all year round. Mix it with blush in the spring, white in the summer, and blues in the fall, or keep the entire bouquet in shades of royal orchid for an impactful winter bouquet look.
Bouquet Trend #2
Size: Small and compact
We are still seeing a huge Royal Wedding Influence when it comes to wedding bouquet trends. Princess Kate carried a very small bouquet of sweet williams when she married the prince. It complimented her slim figure and also allowed her dress to be showcased. Small bouquets are a bit less fussy but equally beautiful so we're seeing a big trend in the downsizing of bouquets and the use of more petite and delicate florals.
Bouquet Trend #3
Classic all white, but add some greenery!
The classic all white bouquet is still very much relevant but we're seeing a lot of garden-style greenery added to these bouquets to give it a more updated look. Whereas bouquets used to be more tightly assembled, we love the freshness of a loose hand-tied bouquet with an english garden feel. You can easily achieve this by adding lush greenery and changing the shape to something much softer and less tight.
Melissa Andre Events Tip:
Rather than wrapping your bouquet stems in the classic white or ivory to match your dress, we love putting a design detail into this aspect of the wedding as well. If you're having a more rustic style wedding, try using a beautiful silk gingham ribbon that compliments your bridesmaid dresses. You can also wrap your bouquet in ivory lace and add a beautiful gold charm if you're going for a more vintage look. We also love adding a fun unexpected pop of colour to your bouquet wrap the same way we've seen brides add a pop of colour in their shoe choice in recent years.
