Charles’ #1 Tip: When it comes to travelling
Patience! You need patience, just accept that you are going to be standing in lines, it is going to take all day and just accept it and be prepared with music on your iPod or iPad with your favorite books and magazines to read.
Question #1
Should people tip the serving staff in the (free/included) restaurants on a cruise ship?
No, generally tips are included with either your purchase price of the ticket or added on to the end of your trip by the company, HOWEVER there is always an exception to every rule and it at the end of the cruise someone in particular has given you amazing service by all means I personally have always tipped them.
Question #2
I am careful to pack regulation size carry-on luggage. Not everyone is as considerate! I would like to know how to tell a passenger, who has managed to slip through the check-in cracks, that their carry-on bag is taking up too much space in the overhead compartment, forcing me to place mine under the seat in front of me, which limits my leg room!
You need to not confront the person yourself as this is just going to end up in an unpleasant argument. I personally have had this problem in the past and gone directly to the flight attendant mentioned it to them and let them deal with the problem. it has worked as a charm!
Question #3
What is the rule when it comes to reclining your seat?
Be aware of the person behind you, look before you recline, and never have your seat back during the meal
Question #4
Who gets to control the window shade on an airplane?
The person sitting at the window controls the shade, however ask others in your row, or be aware, pull the shade down during the movie!!
Question #5
What is the proper way to collect your luggage from the carousel? So many people surround it waiting and it’s hard to get your bag!
Personally I stand as far away from where the bags come down which is the most crowded area, and wait the 30 seconds for my bag to make it around the belt, less people = less stress
