Household technology

When it comes to spring cleaning there’s one thing we ALL overlook.. and that’s the quality of our air. Tech expert Nich Montgomery is here with the latest ways to banish those dust bunnies & indoor air pollution... for good.

When shopping for a new vacuum this spring look for the following things:

BAGLESS TECHNOLOGY

Bags are expensive. Over the life of your vacuum you spend a lot of money. Bags are NOT environmentally friendly. Vacuums lose suction as the bag gets full.... and, let’s face it... bagless vacuums are just more convenient

MOTORIZED BRUSH HEAD

Traditional vacuums used air to power the brushes, results in less clean carpet, less clean air. Always look for motorized brushes. They’ll dig deeper in pile rugs and drudge up more dirt for you to clean away.

HEPA or Canadian Asthmatic Association CERTIFICATION

DON’T GO CHEAP!

Rule of thumb when buying a vacuum is DON’T GO CHEAP. A good vacuum should cost between $450 & $700... will last you anywhere from 5-10 years. This is your single biggest line of defence when it comes to keeping your indoor air fresh & pollution free.
