Dating expert, Matthew Hussey, knows all the lines. Now he translates what a guy really means when he says a few common phrases.
He says: “Let’s not put a label on it.” What he REALLY means: Let’s not ruin what we’ve got by announcing we’re together. I don’t want to miss out on any possible options (potential partners).
He says: “You’re too good for me. I don’t deserve you.” What he REALLY means: I’m not really going to try to keep you around, and you need someone who wants to try. I’d like to have my cake and eat it too, so stick around, but you aren’t getting much from me.
He says: “Lets watch a movie” What he REALLY means: Let’s have sex.
He says: “I was really hurt in my last relationship.” What he REALLY means: I feel damaged, scared – insert a righteous noble emotion here. What he’s saying is that he just wants a casual relationship with you so that he can mess around on the side. Then he can justify his indiscretions by saying he was hurt, and as a women you’ll be apt for forgive him and nurture him, hoping that he’ll change.
