Sex and The Brain

Alternative health expert Bryce Wylde explains how hormones affect attraction, lust and long-term pair bonding.

The key hormones driving us to pair up:

Lust: testosterone and estrogen
Attraction: fuelled by adrenaline, dopamine and serotonin. This is why “falling in love” feels the same as feeling stressed or anxious. The butterflies in the stomach, sensation.
Attachment: triggered by oxytocin. It’s released during orgasm, as well as during childbirth. This hormone is behind the instant mother-newborn relationship. Oxytocin is also released simply by touching someone.
