Food Rules for the Family
- Be open to trying something new.
- Appreciate the food on your table.
- Even if you don’t like a food, don’t project that onto your child’s taste buds
- Remember the ‘Monkey See, Monkey Do’ effect. Kids are always watching.
- Have fun around food. Try a theme night at least once a week.
- Let your children participate in cooking, even if they do it wrong.
- Focus on each other. Ask questions about how your family members spent their day
- Try, try again. You can train your palate to appreciate any flavour if you persevere.
- Don’t get into the habit of forcing anyone to finish his or her plate.
- Be willing to let go of some comfort food for health in the long-term.
