Sandra Rinomato shows us what exactly an agent does every day and what your agent should be doing for you.
Key steps to finding a good realtor:
- Get pre-approved by the bank and figure out your budget. It’s a waste of time to look at houses if you don’t even know what you can afford.
- Ask around for referrals. If a friend or co-worker had a good experience with a realtor, it might be a good fit.
- Pay attention to listing agents when looking at properties on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). If you see the same name and face on properties or neighbourhoods you like, that agent may have the right inventory to suit your needs.
- Go to open houses. Even if you’re not interested in the property, ask the realtor questions. See how well they answer your questions and how they talk up the property. If you feel as if they’re listening to you and working hard to sell the listing, they’ll do the same for you.
- Take the time to trust your realtor. This person is guiding you on the biggest purchase of your life. You have to trust that they have your interest at heart.
