I don't have the time.
Get up 10 minutes earlier (ideally, before the kids). It doesn’t sound like much (and it isn’t) but can add up to 5 extra hours a month! You have to make time for and care about your money if you want it to take care of you one day.
I'm not smart enough.
Yes you are and you don’t need to be to open your credit card statement, read over your purchases and expenses or ask for a discount. You just have to care!
My spouse will look after me (or the government, my company, a lotto win, an inheritance)
We all know how crazy this is. No one should care more about your finances than you (this is when people get scammed, spouses commit financial infidelities, etc)

Money and are health are two issues that require daily attention – even just a few minutes a day. Plus, think about the positive foundation you need to lay for your children? It should be part of your day – your conversations with them. And don’t worry – you can learn together!
