Decor
Use grass, real or faux as a table cover for your Grey Cup party. Use bleachers as a tiered stand for snacks, and place playing men across the ‘playing field’ for fun décor.

Incorporating team colours is vital to a football party, use balloons to bring the colours into the décor. Don’t forget to include flowers for a feminine touch, they can double as pom-poms!

Popcorn in Mason Jars/ Have snacks ready to go and display on the table bleachers for guests to grab as they wish.

Pretzels in Paper Bags

Popcorn and pretzels are ideal for football watching. Place popcorn in dressed up mason jars and pretzels in take away paper bags, they are as much décor as snack!

Football Cake Pops Football & Chocolate Strawberries. Have a little fun with your party by incorporating some football specific items like these football cake pops and football chocolate covered strawberries.

Self Serve Stations

Allow Guests to Graze Throughout the Game. Setting up grazing stations allows guests to eat throughout the game and gives you a chance to enjoy watching some of it. Prepare snacks that guest can grab and go, keep a slower cooker with chili going and have punch and beer ready. No one will go hungry.

Easy Slow Cooker Chili

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 4 hours
Total Time: 4 hours, 15 minutes
Yield: 4-6 servings

Make it ahead! This chili is made easy in the slow cooker, then topped with a refreshing fresh salsa.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup diced onion
  • 3/4 cup diced red and yellow bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 (15.5 oz) cans kidney beans, drained
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt/pepper

Directions:

  1. In a medium skillet, cook the ground beef until mostly browned. Add in the onion and bell pepper and cook an additional 3-4 minutes. Add in the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  2. Add the beef mixture to a slow cooker. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beans, chili powder, cumin and salt. Cook on low for at least 4 hours (but it can be cooked all day long).
