Snow White And The Huntsmen (June 1)

A darker take on the tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. It was originally supposed to take on “Mirror, Mirror” (another Snow White remake) but the release date for “Mirror, Mirror” was pushed forward to March.

Rock of Ages (June 15)

Based on the musical of the same name, and takes place in the pop metal era of the 80s

Magic Mike (June 29)

A movie about male strippers loosely based on Channing Tatum’s experience as one (Tatum is also a co-producer)

The Amazing Spider Man (July 3)

sparked a behind the scene romance between Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.

Savages (July 6)

Originally supposed to be released in September, but Universal execs were impressed by it and changed it to a summer release – based on the novel of the same name, it is about two marijuana growers and their shared hippie girlfriend who become involved in the Mexican drug cartel.

The Dark Knight Rises (July 20)

Expected to be one of the biggest movies of the summer. It is the third installment of Christopher Nolan’s batman series.

Total Recall (August 3)

Shot in Toronto, a science-action remake of the 1990 film of the same name.

Lawless (August 29)

A Western crime film based on the bootlegging business in Virginia.
