These Are The Absolute Prettiest DIYs We've Ever Seen

Margot Austin shares five of the most stunning and statement-making DIYs we've seen to help us create the perfect spring décor for a party, all on a budget!

Marblized Paper Invitations
  • Nail polish poured then swirled around in a bit of water.
  • Place the paper face down in the mixture.
  • Remove and allow to dry (you can place between layers of paper towel under a stack of books to help press paper)
Wallpaper Decoupage Chair
  • Either use peel & stick wallpaper or apply wallpaper to back and seat of chair using Mod Podge, then paint over again with ModPodge to seal, especially along all edges.
  • If you use peel & stick wallpaper it can be removed without damaging the chair.

Wallpaper Print Cake
  • Use a computer to create several copies of the pattern. Arrange them in a blank doc matching pattern as you go. Fill a whole 8.5 x 11 sheet
  • Take the digital file to a place that offers edible printing services (most places that make cakes or custom cookies) and have them print a few sheets of the pattern
  • Cut sheets to fit around sides with top edge flush with top of cake that is already covered in buttercream frosting. Press onto sides.
  • Cut two semi-circles to fit top of cake, match pattern around edges if possible

$2 Cake Stand

  • Plate and bowl are 79cents each.
  • Place bowl upside down, apply hot glue or contact cement to underside of bowl
  • Place under side of plate onto bowl and press to ensure glue makes contact around the full perimeter.
  • Allow to dry.

Paper Flowers

A) Tissue Cherry Blossoms
  • Cut tissue in 2.5 x 3in strips
  • Fold strips back and forth lengthwise in fan or concertina fashion
  • Snip each long side at the centre, being careful not to cut all the way through
  • Tie green leaf ribbon around centre and unfold paper “petals” to create flower.
  • Repeat.
  • Glue onto branches

B) Giant Anemones

  • Cut petals in three diff sizes, gather into bouquets and tape in place beginning with smallest size petals. Create centre from two circles of tissue with crumpled edges.
  • Glue moss to centre.
  • Hang on the wall
