The Fans' Season on Criminal Minds
The ninth season of “Criminal Minds” is going to be dedicated to the fans according to actress A.J. Cook. She reveals that this time around the audience will learn more about the characters, which is something they have been asking for.
“I am so excited for season nine and ten because now we are going to write really cool stories about these characters that people have fallen in love with,” she says and promises that this applies to her own character, Jennifer Jareau. With her character they have barely scratched the surface and are “going to get into some really good stuff.”
The fans have historically played an important part when it comes to “Criminal Minds.” Cook’s role was almost cut short around season seven when it was decided that she and her female co-star Paget Brewster would be written out of the show. When the fans found out she would no longer be appearing, they began asking the producers to withdraw their decision. Their requests were answered when the creators changed their minds. “I wouldn’t change the experience for anything because I learned a lot.”
After nine seasons the cast has become family to her. Her own son plays her son, Henry, on the show. “He loves it. It’s play time for him.” This also gives her the opportunity to spend more time with both of her families.
Season premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 9 pm ET on CTV.
