Alan Doyle Goes Solo

Lead singer of the “Great Big Sea” is releasing his new album titled, “Boy on Bridge.” For Doyle, his solo work was just, “ part of the sort of musical journey of the Alan Doyle life.” He explains that he recorded in all kinds of places and tried an assortment of instruments. “ I played stuff I have no business playing,” he adds.
Yet, Doyle wasn’t completely alone when creating the album. He had a bit of help from some close friends, such as Russell Crowe, Jim Cuddy and Gordie Sampson. “I was so lucky when I asked them to jump aboard and they said yes. “ Crowe and Doyle even wrote many of the songs on this album. When referring to Crowe, he says, “He is a great kid”
“Boy on Bridge” will be available starting May 15 2012.
