Three Ways That Eggs Can Totally Transform Your Beauty Routine

We've often been told to do an egg wash on our hair to boost the shine, so of course it makes sense that this protein-packed ingredient would also do wonders for your skin. Eggs contatin over 69 different kinds of proteins, and several vitamins, which work together to help improve the elasticity of skin, reduce fine lines, erase blemishes, and of course, nourish your hair. Eco beauty expert Candice Batisa shares three ways you can incorporate eggs into your beauty routine for the best results.

Note: if you have an egg allergies, these treatments should be avoided.

Natural Face Lift Egg White Mask

This treatment uses only three ingredients that most people already have in their kitchens, and you will notice a difference in your skin in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients
  • 1 egg white
  • 1tsp raw honey
  • Juice of one lemon wedge
Instructions

Making the mask
  1. In a bowl, separate the egg yolk from white
  2. Add 1 tsp of raw honey
  3. Squeeze in the juice of the lemon wedge
  4. Whisk the ingredients together until it becomes a whipped, foamy broth.
Applying the Mask
  • Use a makeup brush to apply to your face
  • Spread it evenly on the face and neck, avoiding the eye and mouth
  • Leave on for 20 minutes: you will feel it tighten and tingle
  • Once it’s dried, rinse with cold water and then apply a good moisturizer

Nail Treatment

Eggs make an excellent cuticle treatment. The nutrients and vitamins will help to increase moisture levels and prevent dry, brittle nails.

Ingredients
  • 1 egg yolk
Instructions
  1. In a clean bowl, whip up the yolk until fluid
  2. Use a blush to apply yolk to your nails, or simply place fingers into the bowl
  3. Let sit for 20 minutes before rinsing off

Egg & Sea Salt Stimulating Hair Mask

When it comes to hair, the proteins and nutrients that are abundant in eggs are great, but the b-complex that's also present helps reduce dandruff, and stimulates hair growth. This mild scrub removes dirt and impurities, and can even strengthen your hair and help with split ends.

Ingredients
  •  1 tbsp Sea salt
  •  2 egg yolks
Instructions
  1. Mix the ingredients and apply it on unwashed hair, concentrating on the  roots.
  2. Cover head with a plastic bag and leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Wash off with any organic shampoo.
