Get the right base: This is a tri-coloured primer from Stila is swirled with violet, pink, and green tones to counteract imbalances in the skintone (violet targets sallow undertones, pink tones down green undertones and helps brighten skin, while green balances out red tones). This is a great product to prepare the face for any makeup application, especially during the festive season when our skin can really show signs of fatigue, weather change, and when heaters can wreak havoc on our skin.
Product: Stila One Step Correct, $47, available at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and Murale.
Keep lashes full and beautiful with individual lashes: Look for individual lashes that come in varying lengths so you can customize your look.
To apply, first squeeze a small drop of glue onto a secondary container. Next, lift a lash from the tips from the container using tweezers. Dip only the BASE of the lash into the glue. While looking directly into mirror, tilt head back/raise chin to "stretch the eye". Place the lash, glue first, downward onto lash line starting at the outer corner of the eye. Use longer lashes at the outer corner mid lengths through the centre and shortest lashes toward the inner lash line. Repeat steps.
Product: Ardell DuraLash Naturals, Knot Free, $7.50 and Ardell LashGrip Adhesive, 4.69, available at Walmart and fine retailers across Canada
Get glammed eyes: Marbled Eye Shadow's by Maybelline are a great choice as they have 2 pearly finishes which can be worn straight from the container for a subtle day look or applied with a wet brush for a high impact metallic sheen for night!
Product: Maybelline New York Eye Studio Color Pearls Marbleized Eyeshadow, $9.99, available at drugstores.
Get luscious lips: Lips should never be neglected, especially in the winter when they can get so dry. To give a full-bodied colour use YSL’s Vernis a Levres – the finish is more like a lip balm than a lipstick.
Product: YSL Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain, $32, available at The Bay, Holt Renfrew and Sephora.
