How to replace your towel rack

Tools you need:
  • Allen wrench
  • Tape measure
  • Level
  • drill
  1. Remove existing towel bar. It will either be screwed directly to the wall or mounted with hidden brackets
  2. Fill and patch old holes
  3. Mark the location for the new towel bar. Do this by holding the new towel bar up to the wall and making a pencil mark where the screws will be for a screw-mounted bar. For a hidden bracket mount, make a mark at each end of the bar.
  4. It’s best to screw a towel rack into a stud in the wall. If this isn’t possible, secure the new bracket with an anchor.
  5. Place the bar against the wall and install the screws into the holes on the mounting arms. Do not tighten all the way. Use a level and place it on the bar. If the bar is level, tighten the screws.
  6. Place the towel bar onto the brackets and insert the screws into the holes on the underside of the mounting arms.
