Jillian's DIY Pendant Lamp

  1. Start with a pendant lamp you may already have, or pick up one from ikea http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/50237298/
  2. Wipe any dust/dirt away with rubbing alcohol.
  3. Spray 2 to 3 coats of copper spray paint.
  4. Cut out small squares of wall paper or other decorative paper.
  5. Using craft or decoupage glue, glue two rows of the squares on the inside of the light fixture, starting at the lower edge. Space the squares equal distance apart.
  6. Once the paper dries, apply three very light coats of three different paint colors with a bristle brush. Every coat change the stroke direction.
  7. Finish with some random brush strokes of copper paint.
  8. Paint the centre of the paper squares with desired paint colour.
  9. Seal with a spray varnish to seal.
